Our school is a very popular choice of lower-secondary school leavers, facing a dilemma about their future. We adjust to the demands of the labour market and to the requirements of higher education institutions.

Traditions and achievements of Zespół Szkół Nr 2 im. Eugeniusza Kwiatkowskiego in Dębica.

The school rose from humble beginnings. Its history started in 1950 when a basic vocational school was set up. It trained workers for the needs of Tyre Company in Dębica. The turning point was the year 1965 when Chemical Technical School of Ministry of Chemical Industry started to exist. Thus a direct connection between the qualifications obtained at school and job offers guaranteed by the Tyre Company was established. In 1985 the school was given the name of Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski, a distinguished Polish politician and The Prime Minister in 1930s.

In the same year the school was awarded a medal of National Education Comission and a badge of merit from the Tyre CompZespół Szkół Nr 2 im. Eugeniusza Kwiatkowskiego in Dębicaany.

In 1987 electronic engineering technical school was set up.

In 1990 our school got a new building as a gift from the Tyre Company where it has been located since then. In the same year electrical technical secondary school was set up. 

In 1993 the first class of general secondary school was set up.

Since 1997 at school there are general secondary school classes that integrate disabled students.

In 2006 information technology technical secondary school was set up.

Eugeniusza Kwiatkowskiego in Dębica consists of general secondary school and technical secondary school classes. Technical school trains students as information technology technicians, electronic engineering techniians and electricians. General secondary school students prepares students for further studies at institutions of higher education.

At the moment the school is attended by more than 900 students. Two thirds of them learn in general secondary school and one third in technical secondary school. The students are aged 16-19 (20 in technical secondary school).

The total number of years of education in technical secondary school is four.

Apart from general education subjects, students in information technology technical secondary school learn seven main subjects corresponding with class speciality, eg.Zespół Szkół Nr 2 im. Eugeniusza Kwiatkowskiego in Dębica
multimedia, computer graphics, office software, operating systems, English for professional purposes.

In electronic engineering technical secondary school there are eleven main subjects, eg.analogue and digital systems, microprocessor, automatic control engineering systems.

In electrical technical secondary school there are nine main subjects, eg.wiring systems, heavy current engineering, power engineering electronics.

In addition to their specialisation, each class does work experience for four weeks in the third year of learning. It takes place in school computer laboratories, in Tyre Company and in the Centre of Practical Education that is located next to the school.

The total number of years of education in general secondary school is three.

Our curriculum is developmentally challenging and engaging for our students. Areas of learning include core curriculum subjects (the same for all students) and extended curriculum subjects (different for different types of classes); Polish, Foreign Languages (English and German), History, Social Studies, The Arts, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Information Technology, Physical Education, Religious Education.

The students have got well-equipped computer laboratories,a big library, a spacious gym and numerous classrooms at their disposal.

Studying at our school does not mean learning only.

The Student Council plays a very important role in our school.  Students’ representatives help share students’ ideas, interests, and concerns with the teachers and the headteacher.  They help the students raise funds, they organise different school events,  they assist the community when they are in need of aid.  Being on Student Council is something that will help our students become responsible and active members of the community. Our students do lots of charity work.

Our students are active blood donors.The club of blood donors was set up in our school in 2000 and 115 of our students and graduates have already joined it and donated over 500 litres of blood for the people in need.Our students take part in numerous competitions and contests at locand national levels and win lots of prizes.

Program MAKE A CONNECTION

Global initiative of Nokia and International Youth Foundation in over 20 countries. It enables young people to acquire knowledge and abilities necessary for active citizenship.
