Our journey started when we all met at our schools parking at midnight. We jumped in the bus and headed to Warsaw. Talking and laughing made the trip shorter than we expected.
We arrived in our capital at around 4am – our flight was at 7:15, so we still had some time to sit down and chill. although our teacher wanted to rehearse some of our presentations with us, so we cant call it free time. Departure went well without any excess baggage problems, which was the biggest worry for our females. Some of us were flying for the first time so you could feel excitement in the air. The views were amazing, nothing can describe them and no picture can show them. Flying over the Baltic Sea was something nobody can ever forget.
Around 8:30 am we landed in Copenhagen and here comes our favorite activity –waiting. We still had 5h to catch the plane to our final destination. Some of us went shopping or for a simple walk and some of us just fell asleep. At 2pm we were ready for the next flight. This time it was longer but we didn’t have any problems during it.
Hjördis, the Icelandic teacher came to pick us up at the airport, everyone exchanged some euros to island currency and we headed off to Reykjavik to our hostel. On the way there we visited some interesting places like the biggest church in Iceland, the Parliament and we admired the view of the city from the Pearlan.
We had a table at 8pm at a local restaurant. We didn’t order anything special but everyone was well fed and satisfied after it. Our accommodation was really nice, nothing compared to the definition of ‘hostel’ I know.. Everyone was too tired to cause any problems, so it was a calm night. We woke up early in the morning and headed for our partner town, ready to visit many places on the way.
