My name is Einar Björn and i am nineteen years old born 3. Januar 1990. I live on a farm not so far from the town of Höfn but while i am at school and work I am with my grandparents. I have one younger brother who‘s name is Hannes. My dad works as a farmer but also works also with some builders and occasional shifts at the local fish meal factory. My mom works in a freezing plant in the town. My farm is just couple of meters away from the fjord Skarðsfjörður and we own several small islands in the fjord where we sail in the summer to collect dune from the eider that lays its eggs in the islands. We also lay nets for salmon but there has been a decrease in the fishing.

We have something over 300 sheeps, some cows, 2 horses we don‘t ride much on and loads of dogs (we just got some puppies 8 of them)

At each new years eve the whole extended family meets at my home and we eat together good food and celebrate with a big fire and loads of fireworks which I have quite alot of fun firing up.

I study at FAS and have been there for the last three years. My main studies focus on Math, Geography, Icelandic  and English for most parts.

My intrests lie mostly in RPG games, fantasy and sci fi literature, mythology, music and cooking. I listen mostly to rock, grunge, alternative and metal and folk songs and among favorite bands are The Smashing Pumpkins, Muse, Iron Maiden, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Jet Black Joe , Weezer and more.

I work with school at Hótel Höfn baking pizzas but in the sommer i will be working helping the chef preparing meals for the tourists and do the dishes, with the possibility of learing how to be a waiter. I have worked there now for 2 years and I like it rather well. You get the best pizza in town there.

My name is Guðlaug Margrét Björnsdóttir and I will be 17 years old in May. I live in a small town in Iceland called Höfn and have lived there all my life. 

We are four in my family, my mother (Anna Lilja), my father (Björn Jón) and my brother (Hjörvar Freyr). We also have a dog (Skuggi)

I like music, sports, acting, singing and travelling. I also like hanging with friends, watching Friends, and being on my computer.

In school I am studying Natural Science along with Mathematics, Icelandic and four foreign languages. When I graduate I want to go and learn physiotherapy, preferable not in Iceland, and I want to work with that in the future.

Hi everyone.

My name is Jóhann Kristófer Antonsson and I am an 18 years old. My birthday is 22nd of September.

I live in a small fishingtown named Höfn with my parents and a ten years old sister and a two years old brother. My father is a seaman and my mother works in the largest freezing plant in town.

I am in my third year in FAS and focus on social studies. Hopefully will I graduate next spring but right now I don‘t know what I want to do in the future. But I am sure I want to study more someday.

I play a guitar, both classical and electric. I have been learning to play guitar since I was 10 years old. I play a lot of classical music but I  like to play all kinds of music. I listen to several kinds of music.

I also draw a bit, mostly pencil drawings. I have done some comics for the community. It would be great to publish the comics in the future.

I spend a lot of time with my friends. We often play role playing games (RPG). It is a game in which the participants assume the roles of fictional characters.

When I finish the exams next week I plan to work in a freezing plant for the summer.

Hello.

My name is Kristín Hallsdóttir.  I'm 17 years old and my birthday is on February 28th. I have brown hair and green eyes. I live in Höfn with my family of six, I have 3 brothers. My oldest brother is almost 2 years younger than I, his name is Hallmar and he is 15 years old (1993). I have another brother, his name is Gísli and he is 9 years old (1999), Siggi is my youngest brother he is 8 years old (2000).  My father is the cook on a ship called Sigurður Ólafsson and he also works with the other fishermen on the ship. My mother works in a preschool and is finishing her last year studying to be a preschool teacher. 

My parents own horses and sheep, but just a few because it their hobby, they both lived at farms when they were younger.

About me: I think I'm just a regular person, or I think so.

I don’t have much time to do things after school, because school starts at 8 am and finishes at 4:10 pm. Then I go and exercise, after that I go home, take a shower and do my homework, eat, and maybe meet some of my friends afterwards.

I work at Hótel Höfn in the summertime, there I’m an assistant chef, and there is always something funny happening. During the wintertime when something is happening at the hotel like a concert I often get some work too.
 

Hello my name is Margrét Vignisdóttir, I am 18 years old. I live in a small town,  Höfn, it is in the south east of Iceland. I have lived here my whole live except for one year when I went to New Zealand.

My family is my parents, Vignir og Þorbjörg. My dad works in Reykjavik (the capital of Iceland) and my mum is a nurses aide at the nursing home. I have two brothers Páll Sigurður (21) he is a fisherman and works at the glacier lagoon Jökulsárlón and Þorkell Óskar (13).  And we have one parrot called Borat.

My hobbies are music, basketball, friends, travelling, watching movies and lots more. :-)  I listen to all kinds of music, just depends on the mood. I played basketball for a while, but never for real because I live in such a small town and there weren't enough girls here to make a team. I love hanging with my friends, like most people do I guess. :-)  I have travelled to Turkey and New Zealand. That's not much but Im planning on travelling a lot in the future. :-)

My school is called FAS. I live very close to it. There are not many people there which is great, pretty much everyone knows who everyone is and your teachers know you by name most of the time, so its pretty personal and nice.

I haven't decided what I am going to do in the future but something with the human body has always interested me so doctor, physiotherapist or chiropraktor are likely to be picked :-)

I hope we will get a chance to meet you in Poland in March. Im looking forward to getting to know you all.

My name is Rakel Ösp Elvarsdóttir.  I‘m 16 years old but but I will be 17 in September. I live with my parents and a younger brother (11) on a farm about 35 kilometers away from the town Höfn.  I don‘t drive home every day. When I am at school I can stay with my grandparents who live in the town Höfn.

At our farm we have alot of sheep (about 400), horses, a dog and a cat. I really like horses and want to work with them in the future. At my home are about 20 horses a I myself have two. Every day when I am at home I have to take care of the horses and I ride as often as I can. I have to say that horses are my hobbies number one, two and etc.

Like last four summers I am going to work in a shop which is located near the one of the most beautiful places in Iceland. That is the glacier lagoon Jökulsárlón where you can see a lot of icebergs. You will see it when you come to Iceland.

My name is Sigríður Ólafsdóttir, usually called Sigga. I‘m eighteen years old (now at least), born in February 1991. I live in the beautiful town Höfn í Hornafirði in Iceland with my mom, Sigurbjörg and my cat, the Great Alexander. I also have a dad, Ólafur and a stepmom, Benna and a brother, Jón Þór. They all live in Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland. My dad is a house builder, my stepmom works in finance and my brother is a musician.

I go to the school FAS, where all the beautiful and talented people gather to fill their brains with all kinds of knowledge to walk out all smart and successfull. I’m on my second year there (now anyways, spring of ‘09) and on a good way to extreme smartness and successfulness.

I listen to music such as U2, the Beatles, Sigurrós, Frank Sinatra, Fairground Attraction, Louis Armstrong, Erasure, the Rolling Stones, Queen, Mammút, John Mayer, Hjálmar, Mugison and Foreigner and I prefer good quality music on vinyl. I don‘t know why but it just sounds better, it‘s like coca cola is always better in a glass bottle you know, it‘s unexplainable.

My favorite color is green. My favorite kind of food is lobster, and anything that involves chicken. I‘m a “television-aholic“ and when I’m “in the zone” I can sit in front of the TV for hours. I like movies such as Judd Apatow movies, 80’s cop movies, cheesy romantic love stories, any comedies, good action movies and so on and TV shows such as Friends, How I Met Your Mother, Scrubs, Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Sex and the City, Whose Line is it Anyway and House. My favorite kind of flower is Fífill and my favorite place in the world is Fellshamar in the Lón. It is a place where my family has a summerhouse, about a 20 minute drive from our town. When the sun is shining and the birds are singing you can’t think of a better place to be. It’s my happy place :-).

I like to travel and I hope to see the whole world in all it’s glory someday, sometime. I have already been to six other countries other then Iceland, that is Denmark, Portugal, Germany, Spain, Turkey and Scotland. I like getting to know different kinds of culture, food, people, languages and art and I’m very open minded about trying new things. I’m a rather shy person but easy to get to know. I can be very stubborn, strong headed and competitive sometimes but usually it’s not a big problem. Anyway -  that’s me. So, how are you?

My name is Sveinbjörg Zophoníasdóttir and I am 17 years old in April. I am the youngest in the family but I have 3 siblings. My father(Zophonías, 53 years old) is a teacher and my mother(Guðrún, 51 years old) is an artist.

I live in a small town called Höfn in south-east of Iceland and I live with my family and boyfriend (Jón Snorri, 18 years old). I‘m very outgoing and an adventurous person. I love to travel around Iceland and other countries too. I‘m very active and I like everything related to sports and training. I train 5 to 6 times a week athletics and my favorite drill is long jump and javelin throw. I also love mountaineering, camping or driving around on a ATV (fourwheel) with my boyfriend on the weekends. Just like other girls, I like shopping and fashion. I also love to design my own clothes or dresses. My mom helps me and our dream is to make our own design-line someday.

Also one of my favorite hobbies is acting. In the autumn semester I often decide to be a part of a group in my school called „The FAS theater“ were we act, sing and dance. My goal is to study sport psychology and nutrition in College in the future, maybe somewhere overseas or in the capital city of Iceland, Reykjavík.

My name is Þórhildur Rán Torfadóttir, and I am 18 years old (born 1990). I live in a small town called Höfn which is in the south-east of Iceland.  I am the youngest of four siblings, I actually have 3 older brothers, but they are all a bit older then me, so I live alone with my parents. My mother works as a secretary in one of the schools in Höfn, and my dad is a harbour pilot. 

I go to the seconday school  in Höfn, FAS and I'm on my fourth semester here. I went as an exchange student to Mexico (so far the best year of my life!) for a year, so I'm kind of a year behind – but it doesn't really matter because the school system here works like that. Anyway, I'm studying sociology, philosophy, english, spanish, icelandic .. and some other things.

My main hobby is music, I just love music. I couldn't live without it. And I play the flute, and have been since I was 9 years old. And I also love traveling (I would love working in something that includes a lot of travel when I'm older!), sports (though I'm a bit lazy), mysticism, photography, acting, singing (I like singing, but I can't sing, because it just sounds horrible when I do it – but I like it anyway :-)  My favorite colour is green and blue, my favorite food is tlayjudas (a tradicional food from Oaxaca, Mexico!), my favorite kind of music is rock and I just love cliché romantic movies. And I like to get to know other countries culture, and stuff. I love clothes, I love dressing up and go out. And so on, and so on...

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this assignment. I think it's very exciting :-)
